Have you replaced a Univolt fan?

Call me impatient or bad at searching these forums but I haven't seen any that suggest replacing the original fan in the Univolt. Andy at Inland RV says the Univolt rarely fails so I want to just silence that noisy old fan instead of replacing the unit. I was thinking of installing a 4" muffin fan. Anybody replaced the fan? With what? Thanks!

Here's an update...After I had a friend come visit for the week and stay in the LY I knew it was time for a fix! The racket was just too much to ignore. I pulled the converter which wasn't bad at all cept for the cramped space it resides in. On the bench it was a few 1/4" screws to remove the cover, blow it out with air and study the fan. The fan can be disassembled while in the unit by using a stubby flat blade screwdriver and removing the 2 screws holding it all together. I then cleaned the motor shaft with 000 steel wool, blew it off with air again, put a little general purpose grease to it, reassembled and whalaaa! Nice and quiet! Boy I love the fact these ole items are repairable and not throw-away's as todays products seem to be.

The original Univolt, for your Airstream, did not have a fan.

Someone prior, must have installed a replacement, perhaps from a later year.
