Guarding a Suregard

I have one of these and they are quite expensive, out there and unprotected from thieves. Anyone has an idea of how to protect this investment?

I wrap a bike cable lock tightly around its top and bottom leads and the power post.

No lock, 5 years of use and as far as I can tell it has never been messed with. Just lucky, I guess.

Here is my method; most electric pedestals have a cover. The covers generally have a small hole in the corner that aligns with a hole on the box. I carry a small combination lock that I use to lock the cover down which makes it impossible to remove the surge guard. Simple and effective.

I only lock mine when the campground looks sketchy, you know, like when there are a lot of campers around with Airforum stickers on them.
