Chris,
I just got your email and had not seen this thread. Andy above is correct in that those are both positive and need to be joined. Per your email, the white then is the negative and you should be good.

Hi Zep,
I just did the wiring you suggested at the fuse box and smoke started coming out of the fuse panel. So, I put it back as it was (in the diagram).

I also joined the red and blue wires on the positive terminal at the converter. The white wire is on the side of the box on what looks like to be a ground screw. Power between fuses 1 and 3 stopped.

Cris

One more thing. I tried tp connect the white wire on the negative terminal of the converter instead of the side screw (which looks like a ground terminal). If I do this, there are sparkles.

Chris, the top screw and the side terminal on the XADC are both chassis ground. Normally that is a solid copper wire comming from the frame somewhere. I can't tell from your photos which is which so I would stop and have it looked at to be sure. Normally the blue and red or positive but anybody could have changed things around. "Sparkles" aren't good.

Cristina,

Andy and 68Overlander are right. I thought you said the other terminal (with the blue wire) was (-) negaqtive. My bad. You want both (+) wires together to go the the red traced side. Tie the real negative lead (-) to ground (the blue trace in my doctored photo).

Problem solved!!! The Probelm was with the wiring of the converter. The solution was to put both red and blue wires on the positive and the white wire on the negative. The ground was not the white wire. I will need to attach another wire to ground the converter to the shell. Thank you all for the input. You guys are wonderful!
