Hello 68, I don't know if my battery box is the same as yours, and I was unable to view the link provided by Vantair.
I just replaced my two Interstates with two Fullriver DC105-12's. Technically they fit in the battery box, but it was absurdly tight...so tight in fact, I was unable to remove them without slight box modification. There's plenty of room on the sides and top, but the length of the box needed some love. I didn't take photos of the process because I didn't think others would be interested.
Here's a description of what I did: (Remember your eyerotection)
1- Using a Dremel with grinding wheels (I went through about 8 of them) remove the 3 rivets which hold the lid to the battery box.
2- Using the Dremel again, cut away about 1/8" (3mm) from the box edge where the lid was riveted. This slightly increases the length of the opening and creates enough clearance for the batteries.
3- Outside the battery box, set the batteries on the plastic divider tray that the original batteries sat in. You'll see that if you cut away 4 "sections" of the tray, the Fullrivers will nestle into the tray, eliminating side to side movement. The Dremel did this job too.
4- Test for fit, then remove everything and paint over any exposed metal.
5- Install your Fullrivers. I used wood to shim the front and back of the batteries eliminating front/rear movement.
6- Select some stainless bolts/nylock nuts or rivet the lid back in place. If you opt to use rivets, be aware you'll have to grind them off when the time comes to replace them again. If you choose stainless hardware, you'll probably have to drill the holes to a slightly larger diameter, otherwise you'll have to use cute little dollhouse-sized bolts
This wasn't a difficult project, it probably took me a couple of hours, I feel it was time well spent. Hopefully the YouTube link in Vantairs post works for you, watching a video would be easier than trying to make sense of my verbal attempt.
