Question Extra wire

I am Sue martin of Prunedale CA, I have a 67 Caravel "Little Duke" that is about to hit the road. In the wiring of the tow plug my husband came up with a black wire he just can't figure out. All the lights are acounted for, the electric brakes and original converter works. Any ideas what the black wire might be for?

The black wire is the "back up light" circuit. You can add them if you wish.

Yes, Backup light wiring. I found that wire, rolled up and masking taped to the inside of the exterior wall behind my tub surround just below the rear taillights when I redid the floor on my '65 Globetrotter.
