Electrical Remodel

First, some background: I'm helping my friend Jo Anne remodel her 1972 31' Sovereign. We are making it into a stationary cabin in the woods. It will be hooked up to 120v power full-time. It will no longer be used on the road at all. We are doing a complete floorplan transformation and almost all the forniture and fixtures throughout have been removed.
My questions right now are:
1. Is there a good way to run new wires thru the walls?
2. Is there anything special I need to know about moving the whole Univiolt system to a different location? It's in the way where it is right now. Is there a way to test the univolt? None of the 12 volt lights or anything 12 volt is working. Is there an economical replacement or an improvement that is better than the original equipment?
3. Do we need to keep the battery?
