One the brighter side: According to the NYTs this morning, people who hum may have less sinus congestion, perhaps even when they're potted.

The older Univolts will eventually hum as indicated. New modern switching power supplies do not and will not with age.

I replaced mine with an Iota, and now sleep in peaceful silence (at least as far as the converter goes)

Not a bad choice at all on the Iota. They have done extremely well and are a favorite for fast charging and maintaining.

Randy may not say it, but his prices on the Iota are pretty good as well. I got mine form him. Follow-up support was/is excellent as well.
