Converter melt down

Any suggestions on the best place to buy a 55 AMP converter? So far i have only found $250 ones. Is that the best I'm going to do. We melted our Parallax. do I have to buy the same brand? We have a 2008 Classic.

You could replace it with something like this to keep costs down...
