Plugging the trailer in all winter with the stock Paralax is not good. Better to take the batteries out, store them in a warm place and trickle charge them from time to time.
I think that is what has happened to me. I am having battery issues right now, they will not hold a charge. I plugged into shore power and let them charge for 24 hrs, came back, unplugged, had 13.6V. I came back after another 24 hrs, had 9.6V. I am going to check each cell with a hydrometer this weekend. Hopefully only one battery is dead.

I bought my first AS from a private party 8 months old. Airstream provided warranty work without any hassle and I did not have to transfer the warranty either. You may want to contact Airstream and they might ship you a new convertor.
Good luck
