Converter cables

I just replaced the Univolt in my 89 Excella with an Intellipower 9260, and used the original #6 connecting cables . Is this advisable, or a potential hazard?

#6 might be OK for the unit's max 60A output, depending on the length of the wire run. Measure the distance, multiply by 2 (you need to figure the wiring run as a round trip) and look in the 12 volt chart here:

6 ga cable is adequate for a 60 amp converter/charger.
