Converter/battery voltage

When the unit is plugged in to shore power, shouldn't the batteries read converter voltage with a multimeter? My batteries have severely depleted. The converter is working because all the 12v items are working. But checking the batteries, I am getting battery voltage, not 13.5v and will not charge.

I now have one of the batteries removed and on my shop charger. It reads charger voltage. Is there a fuse for the batteries or a protection circuit to prevent charging a depleted battery?

I assume you have your USE/STORE switch in USE. If you don't, the batteries will not charge.

Does your year have a converter wall switch that turns the converter off and back on again? Make sure that is on.

Step 2 would be to check the voltage on the output of the converter itself.

Am I wrong that in the store position that none of the 12v items like interior lights should be operating?

regardless of use or store, your 12v stuff will get power from the converter as long as shore power is connected.

Thanks all. My problem was a misunderstanding of the store/ use switch. I still find it interesting that with shore power plugged in, that the light on the switch panel tells you nothing. Unplugged it does. I am sure my batteries are well sulfated, but they are taking a charge.
It is also interesting that my Less expensive Bambi has a nice large battery switch and a large digital voltage readout.
