Smile converter

Installed new mp3-55 amp converter today but I plugged AS into outside outlet that has gfi kept tripping killing outlet. Called power max they had no idea what I was talking about or how to remedy problem, then called Advance MCS Electronics whom I pur. from, explained prob. he told me that some goofy reason converters trip gfis kick power off to outlet, plugged into non protected outlet every thing worked fine. I don't no why they do this but not good idea as my outlet is out side protected w/gfi as all out door outlets are protected also this called for in electric codes. Also person I talked to very pleasant and helpful, then when I called back to tell them prob. remedied another per. answered also very pleasant. Maybe only power max has this prob. as Intella power converter did not do this.

I would try installing a new GFI. They can go bad. I have a PowerMax converter and have had no problems.
