Charging batteries from external source

When using an external generator or solar pannel how do you put that power into the trailer. The battery box on my '86 Soverign is small and not condusive to just clamping cables on the battery terminals.

When using a generator, you just plug the trailer's 30A shore-power cord into the generator directly (it will require an adapter.) The built-in converter/charger will charge the batteries just like it does when you're plugged in at a campground.

Solar panels are generally wired directly into the 12v system so that they'll charge the battery anytime there's sun and the battery needs a charge.

I use circular wire connectors to wire my portable 3-stage battery charger directly to the battery with a pig tail into the interior of the trailer to plug the charger into. I use the same system for solar panels on my sail boat. I have never used a generator with my trailer so have no actual experience in wiring one in to the trailer system. On the boat I simply plug the generator into the boat/house power plug when needed.
