BMV-712 Battery Monitor Temperature Sensor

Hi,
In the process of rewiring the battery part of my Airstream and decided now would be a good time to add a temperature sensor to my Victron battery monitor. I ran the wires today and discovered it is about 6-12" too short. I'm surprised it is as short as it is. Anyone else run into this problem?

The solutions don't really look good. I could just cut the cable and add new ends, but the one end is pin connections and I'm not familiar with how they are attached nor what size they are. The other end fits on the battery terminal but is odd in that the wires are probably something like 18 gauge. No idea where to find that connector? The only other option would be to cut the wire and have two connectors on each wire so that I can use the two ends that are already on the cable.

Thanks!

What I’ve found says there is very little voltage flow (AMPS) on the temp sensor wire so you can cut that wire and splice without changing the accuracy of it.
Source says, Cut in the middle solder the splice and heat shrink cover joint to protect. Use at least 22ga wire for extension.

cut in the middle and use the same wire gauge
the end tip is a thermo couple

do NOT modify it
