Best Replacement for Univolt Converter?
What is currently the best replacement converter? I want to replace a Univolt on a 1973 Tradewind. Currently a 55 amp. Like to go to 65 amp if possible. Currently there is no fuse box so I'd like to install a fuse box too.

I would recommend a Progressive Dynamics 9260 with the fuse box and pendant form Vintage trailer supply. I use these in all my rebuilds. Single and double battery systems.

9260 vs 9260C "with charge wizard"
Thanks for your quick reply. do you have a preference of the 9260 vs. the 9260C that includes the "charge wizard"?

You might want to give Randy at http://www.bestconverter.com
a call. He sells of converters from several suppliers and can suggest the best converter technology for your situation.

Hi
The same 120V power circuit that fed the Univolt now feeds the new converter charger.
You label each of the wires as you pull them off of the old panel and then re-wire them to the new panel. They get the same fuse size on the new panel as they had on the old panel. The label sticker on the new panel gets a description of the circuit on it. If you need info on what circuit is what, the manual (still available from Airstream) is the place to go.

I would love to see the data on noise, charge rates, float voltages, power factor correction, etc. What we use is a simple test set and 15 years of feedback from he field. We could in no way suggest what each customer needs with out that feed back.
What if I like the PD 9260 but have a 7345? Will it fit?

There is an unfortunate lot of this sort of stuff up on the web. It's not just specific to the RV world. One might even come up with a term for it .... errrr ... ummmm... what was that phrase I heard once .... ummm.... fake news was it?
