Battery Size

Does a 25' come standard with group 24 or group 27 batteries.

Thanks!

Generally speaking, group 24 lead/acid wet cell are standard. Many upgrade to group 27 AGM or 6 volt batteries for the increased storage capacity.

Thanks. My AS is a 2009 25' FB Int. Will group 27 fit in the standard battery box? I like the idea of the 6 volt but the added weight is an issue for me as I'm maxed out of payload. The size is an issue as well but I understand the box can be modified to accept them.

BTW I like the caption under you name.

Once I put the Solar panels on w/Blue Sky Controller, I immediately upgraded to 2 #27 group for the additional storage. Works well!

The 6 volt batteries are taller so the top of the battery box will need to be raised. I have a friend who did this by fabricating a collar that's the same dimensions as the existing box, and remounting the lid to the collar.

I have two Lifeline G27 AGM batteries in the A-frame box, but I had to modify the box slightly to get them in. The box size on my 2005 is fine, but it has a lip around the top that faces inward and makes it impossible to get the batteries in. I had to cut off part of the lip on one side next to the latch...enough to drop in one battery at a time. Drop one in slide it over, then drop in the second one.

Spent many days in Hanover, my folks lived in Hampstead just down the road. Half the shoes in my closet are from the Hanover Shoe Outlet there in the Center Square.

I'm having a hard time finding a vendor to extend the battery box on my FC 27 from the bottom; I don't want to elongate the box on top because I don't think the storage door under the bed would open. I'm thinking about just putting in the largest batteries I can find without changing the compartment. Boondocking use with solar and perhaps a Honda 2000i converted to propane are under consideration for a charging option. Has someone gone this route? What are the largest batteries you've found that fit without modifying the box? Or would you keep going until I can find someone to enlarge the box and use golf cart batteries, such as the Trojan-105RE, which the manufacturer says are ideal for the task. T-105-RE | Trojan Battery Company THANKS!
