Battery Question

We were getting ready to go camping this weekend and went to get the camper and the jack wouldnt work (electric). So John plugged up the camper to raise the jack and we have no power at all. We went and bought a new battery at Walmart. It was a marine battery but it will not fit in the hole, it is about an inch too tall. What kinds of batteries have any of you bought besides the expensive gel batteries that will fit inside the box? It is a 2000 and the batteries are behind the propane tanks. Not a lot of room back there. Any ideas of why we have no power even when plugged up? We have not had any trouble from the camper since we got it. Have been camping almost every weekend since we bought it. Thanks for any help you can give us.

I worked on a SOB that had a 40 amp fuse going tot he positive lead on the battery. The fuse had blown, which meant that the converter couldn't charge it, and nothing could get power from it. Also check the grounds, and make sure they are good.

ST

A group 27 size should fit.

As Terry mentioned.

Check those breakers first.

Good Luck..

Thanks for the help!! Terry, it was the two fuses on top of the converter that were blown. We replaced them and all is well, that was simple enough!
