Battery overflow

When plugged into shore power ( new intellipower) my battery overflowed acid.What is the problem and cure?

More than likely, the converter is putting out too much voltage making the battery boil.

Or, the battery is shot, making the converter keep on heavy duty charging, again making the battery boil.

Sounds like overcharging to me...

Do you know the rate it was charging at?

Either the battery was over charged, or the battery is bad, making the converter, over charge it.

could the battery been overfilled with water?

Battery tests good and the intellipower is supposed to reduce to trikle if the battery is charged. I noticed on the 65 Safari a battery vent hose to the exterior but my battery has no vent connect for same.

Some of the newer batts don't have the vent hose connection.

Our 63 Safari had the single BB on the street-side, very tight fit. Any evidence of it shorting out?

With the Classic, I had a brand new Xantrex converter fail the first time out. New Butterflies die.

Turn some lights on, discharge to 50%, plug in to shore power and test converter output.

If it's not the wiring or battery, then the converter is definitely suspect.
