So my wife and I have been restoring a 1965 Landyacht Safari. It was purchased new by my grandpa's cousin and has been kept in the famiy (kinda cool). So we went out this weekend and we had a strong sulphur smell inside and around the trailer. The smell was not from the hot water or the septic, and the batter was hot to the touch. I am assuming that the battery is overcharging. Has anyone had this problem before and how do I fix it?
You get a new converter/charger. There are many out there and they won't break the bank. Get a good three stage charger. I have an IOTA and am happy with it.
Do a Google search and you will find lots of companies out there. I did a little research and then asked the guys at my local Airstream dealer. They quoted me a price that was competitive with the mail order places so I had them put one in. It didn't take them long, in my case, so the out the door price was very justifiable.
