I just figured out that it is easier for me to remove my batteries for charging during long term storage. I have a '78 Soverign. Does anyone have a line on where I can find a couple of the quick disconnect plugs used in this era Airstream?
I would like to make a wiring harness to connect both batteries in parrallel to my battery charger.
I am no expert on battery charging, but I believe that you really need two chargers or a charger with dual outputs rather than running the batteries parallel off of the charger. I have experience with my bass boats and the chargers all have dual outputs. I think that a single charger will read the charge state of the first battery and the second battery will not fully charge.
The new chargers that are out there for tolling motor batteries have 2 or even 3 outputs and they will charge and maintain multiply batteries properly. Bass Pro has several listed.
Charging in together is correct as it helps keep the batteries matched.
If you charge each separately you end up with batteries of different capacities trying to work together with one battery working harder than the other.
Also this is how they are charged when in the trailer.
