Battery Box Modification Options

My 02 Safari came with a plastic battery box mounted on the tongue behind the propane tanks. The box is big enough to mount a size 31 battery. Right now there is a size 24 lead acid marine battery mounted. I am planning on updating my converter to a good three stage converter/charger and increasing my battery capacity.

The only simple option I see is going to a size 31 AGM battery like a Lifeline battery. Has anyone come up with a simple option to haul two batteries on this type of AS? The dual cam hitch mounts pen up against the present battery box which leaves no room for an additional box beside the present battery box.

Any ideas are more than welcome.

Raise the box to clear the mounts here is a picture of an old trailer with a raised box for the same reason you mention. http://www.flickr.com/photos/airstre...57628625126507

Thank you. That is a logical solution.

RichardT,
I am in search of a new battery box solution also. The link you posted above seems inaccessible. Could you post the pics or see if the link still works for you

thank you
