Battery 1976 Ambassador 29 ft center bath

Hi everyone,
Anyone knows what replacement batterie I can install in a 1976 ambassador 29 ft center bath or the characteristics of one in place (size, amps) ?
Batterie is dead, Airstream is parked 2 hours away and we lost the paper with characteristics...
Thanks,
Tattone

I'll offer an idea to keep thread alive, until an owner of similar vintage can weigh in...

By the 80's, Airstream designed space for what is called a "Group 27" Deep cycle battery.. They come with threaded adapter posts in addition to the large round lead posts for terminal clamps.. They are large, but high capacity.. If trailer is going to be stored remotely and left without maintainer or solar trickle charge, then expensive AGM (glass mat) batteries are not worth extra money, as they will go dead as well if left alone for months... The next smaller size is Group 24, and that may be easier to fit into the compartment.. Different models within Group 24 or 27 offer different "Amp Hour" ratings (how many amps can be delivered for how long..). Sears is selling Group 24M DieHard Deep Cycles for $89 and Group 27M's for $98. Rated at 80 and 105 Amp Hours respectively.. (Cold Cranking Amps or CCA Rating less relevant...)

Thanks for the answer Condoluminum

After re-cabling everything inside the Airstream, and I mean everything, I am thinking about putting an AGM in there along with a 100W solar panel. Something like: 100W Solar Panels + Charge Controller RV BOAT Solar Panel KIT ALL IN 1. Have you heard of these guys?
As you said, these AGM are pretty expensive so I don't want to buy one that wouldn't fit...

My '74 Argosy 26' has room for 1 group 24 battery.
Measure the compartment or the battery that is there. Some of the group 24 Exide batteries are a bit to tall. They fit, but it's really close quarters.
