Batteries, chargers, inverters, and converters

We're thinking about a late 90's 34' Airstream (wide body). What sort of batteries might we find in such a coach? What sort of charger, inverter, and converter came with the coach? I fully understand that such components may well have been replaced since the coach left the factory, which is why I'd like to know what came with the coach so I can better tell what has been replaced.

Batteries, chargers, inverters, and converters

There are some good threads on the individual items.

Start by finding and printing a wiring schematic and enlarging the relevant runs; for purposes of reference before you have your TT.

I'd start with the service box and work outward to relevant points

I'd also look to WAYTEK as supplier of ANCOR wiring products. See where ColinH and Lewster have pics where the rats nest is cleaned up as Airstream wiring always looks like a hurried job.

List additions you expect to make. Solar or surround sound, whatever. 120v fridge, second A/C unit necessitating 50A service or a 30A workaround etc.

Diagnostic tools are second.

BestRVConverter is a recommended source. The owner is said to be good and helpful.

Your converter may be three way or not. Always easy to change and cheap. There are improvements since then. A search of Lewsters posts will help as to current state of the art.

Threads on batteries should be central. There are enough differences that major changes may apply if not understood.

No doubt its a Parallax. See if you can find it. Its either the 7455 deck mount or the 7355 Power center.
