Are there two batteries,or just one ?
Any idea where the two batteries go in a 1963 sovereign? I was told it has a compartment for a spare, any truth to this? Thank You

Don't quote me, but I think it was late '70s b4 AS started installing two batteries, maybe even early '80s.
I can tell you my '74 certainly only has one.

If you are interested in boon docking and want more battery life you can install as many batteries as you want inside the trailer just as long as you install Sealed Jell Cell batteries that never out gas.
If you do this all the batteries should be of the same type. Don't have a wet cell battery outside and sealed jell cell battery inside a they will not charge and i=discharge at the same rate

Our '97 34' widebody has two exterior battery compartment doors. They are located on either side of the tongue on the front of the trailer. The interior wiring is set up so that the batteries are wired in parallel.

We have an 84 Excella with the same setup as Aviator.
Our 66 Tradewind was designed for one battery, but there is actually room for 4 batteries- two on each side of the toilet. Replacement of the Univolt with a new compact convertor provides some additional space to install two more batteries. I will provide pictures when I complete the installation.

What is it you would like to know? Perhaps us dumb'uns with other year trailers could help...? Do you have the rear bath, by the way? On my '74, the battery lives in a nicely decorated little area on the curb side, ALMOST at the very back.
No room in there for another battery, but just ahead of it, under one of the beds, a person might be able to build a proper spot for another one...

I never implied you were "dumb uns"...I just need some questions about my trailer answered, and hoped to ask a few other questions answered... a bit of web camaraderie ,if you will...no harm intended..
