ADVICE: 6 Volt to replace Trojan T-145 ???

Hey all!

It has been a long time and many travels since I have visited the site! Haley and I have had 6 years of great travels!

Last winter, we screwed up and went on a trip to Ohio and froze some of our faucets. Since I was replacing them I decided to replace the batteries as well because they have not been taken very good care of over the last year and no longer hold a solid charge.

What I had was 2 x Trojan T-145 6V Flooded Batteries... They provided 260Ah.

What would be a good replacement nowadays? I would love to come in around $500 total for both.

Does anyone have a store recommendation in SoCal?

What is the difference with using a lithium battery? Can a system that used a flooded setup just swap in a lithium?

I am going to do some research.

Why not just stick with the T145s and keep your 260 AH? Were they getting the job done the past 6 years? If so...what is your goal? If it's easier maintenance (no water to fill) then the Lifeline's GMFL posted would be a good replacement...but would drop you to 220 AH as a trade-off, and be 50% above your budget (they are around $350 apiece).

Lithiums are lighter, can be drawn down to 20% SOC (or so they say) and don't self discharge, but are best kept in the warm interior of the trailer rather than on the tongue, and are Hella expensive and will blow through your $500 budget with about half a battery. Others will confirm but I think you are OK with a quality multistage charger for Lithium as long as it doesn't have an equalization mode that can kill a Lithium battery.

I was having trouble finding the T145s but I just did locally in Los Angeles. I might go with those because they are dirt cheap at $180 each.

I was maybe considering the lithiums however to save on maintenance and hopefully a longer lifespan (since I wont be neglecting them).
