I'd like to help, but I might not have any useful information to contribute. First, some assumptions:
1. You have the same model of panel that is in our '95 - it has a couple rows of LEDs on the left for status, then there are switches for the hood light, hood fan, and water pump.
2. I assume you are hitting the test switch, and getting no response.
If both of those are true, my first thought would be that the test switch failed. I doubt it's separately fused, but if there is a fuse for it, you'd want to know why that fuse blew (possibly a short circuit).
I'm not sure how it comes out - haven't had a reason to take ours apart. But I'd start by looking under the range hood, removing the cover where the light is, and looking in there - i.e., toward the back of the control panel. An inspection mirror might help.
