1984 24ft international DC issues

My thanks to the gentleman in North Carolina who recognized the problem of my brakes locking up , the cause was in the harness plug , the wires were switched on the plug, my local dealer fixed, it, New problem , when plugged in to electricity at the camp site the lights dimmed after a couple of days, evidently the battery was running the lights , when I disconnected the battery the lights worked fine, but after a couple of days , the lights would go out and then come back on a little later. checked breakers and they did not restore the lights, plugged into the car and started the engine and the lights came on. The air conditioner worked fine when the lights were out. When we were hooking up to go home I used the power lift to raise the trailer to hook up and the lights went out, plugged into the car with motor running and lights came on and power to lift restored , does anyone have any ideas? Carl Harrell, Lakeland Fl 863-670-6395 thanks for any imput

Sounds to me like the batteries or the inverter are history. When you are plugged into your TV you can use the jack,your charge line from the TV is supplying the 12 volts needed.The jack is 12volt and so are all the lites in the trailer. AC runs on 110. I'm not there so I'm not much help.

Mike thanks for taking the time to reply about the inverter or battery , I have a new battery so that is out , what does the inverter do , if it is the inverter can I go dry camping with a fully charged battery and not have issues with the lights and jack? Thanks

TV = Tow vehicle.

When you're hitched and towing the tow vehicle's alternator helps recharge your batteries.

When parked with hookups, your inverter will recharge your batteries... so if they aren't recharging or holding a charge and are new, the inverter is probably bad.

Inverter changes 12VDC to 110VAC
Converter changes 110VAC to 12VDC
From your description it sounds like converter is not working properly. If you go dry camping the converter is not receiving 110VAC so it will not operate anyway. The only way to recharge your batteries is to connect to TV, start engine and that will recharge batteries.

84 international 24 inverter

I might be sending this twice. I am still trying to get straigt which does what on my unit. if plugged into 110 and the lights dim after a couple of days, I check and the new battery is drained, which one is supposed to keep the battery charged when plugged into 110, I disconected the battery and everything worked fine until I was leaving and used the power jack , lights out, plugged into tv and everything on again, Does one of them come into use when hooked to tv? Thanks for sharing the knowledge Carl in Lakeland Florida

Your converter should be charging your battery. It sounds like it is not working. You most likely do not have an inverter.
