12 volt fuses

We have a 1978 Airstream Tradewind and it has a new battery but it will only last a day before we have to charge it again..My question is just where is the inverter/ has a fuse box but does it also have a inverter converter? the fuse box is behind the sofa and also does anyone have apicture of this fuse box,our book got wet(before we bought it) and the page is all messed up so that I can not tell what goes where..we are planning on taking the old sofa out and replacing it with something else and also so that we can get to the fuse box..Thank you in advance for any informatio that you have..
Thanks, Nancy

Do you know where the 120 volt Ac power panel is in your trailer?
Do you know where the battery is? the converter may be close to the battery. If it is a rear bath it may be like my Argosy and be in a closet in or near the bath.
If the converter is running and it is original you should here it humming. But if the AC power is shut off to it. It won't charge the battery. There are also fuses in the battery charge circuit.

Hi Nancy,

TG Twinkie has a good set of questions. A little more info about your trailer would help.

There are photos of the DC fuse panel, the batteries, and the Univolt (and replacement Inteli-Power) with the sofa removed in my 1983 Excella here: Hopefully there is enough similarity to help you out.

My Excella is a center bath, rear bedroom. The AC breaker box is in the closet across the hall from the bathroom on the exterior wall.

Good luck.

I have a rear bath and inside the closet is an AC breaker box ..It is ok and that is all we can use until I recharge the battery again . The battery is on the outside on a tray that u pull out after you unlock the door..nothing works on 12 volt until I recharge the battery again..The Airstream is setup on a camping site..we have to charge the battery so that I can tell when we need to empty the holding tanks and it will only light up using 12 volts..Hope this helps
