i thought it would be a piece of cake....having after a year of manuel moving solar panel at ground level ...decided to mount it on roof (2005 safari 25 ft.) , forum threads have from time to time mention the option of running the wire from the panel over and down refrig. vent.....it seems that it is not a wide open free fall from vent cover, has anyone done this that can give me tips on this or a better option?
Billiards, having the same problem, I started looking and found your thread. I sure wish someone had replied. Did you solve the problem and can you shared it with me?
Having done this in a Tradewind and more recently in a 310 motorhome, yes it is not a wide open free fall because (a) the wall is curved and (b) the refrigerator is in the way. I had to pull the refrigerator out a few inches so I could get to the wire end. I wanted to use a regular electrical fish tape but would have had to take the refrig vent cover off, that seemed more trouble than it was worth. Use big stiff wire (I used #10 stranded). And be sure you fix the pieces of vent screen that you bent or cut to pass the wire through... you want to keep the wasps out...
Thanks DL, right now I'm stuck at the screen at the top of the vent. Until your post I didn't know it was a screen, just knew there was an obstruction there. I can't even get my fingers in there to touch the screen. I'll try again, new day - new determination.
All,
Try Eheffa and my install options for your coach. Evan has quite a detailed install for two pannels as do I on http://www.airforums.com/forums/f448...ort-62608.html
My install starts on post #69 on page 5 of this thread. Hope it gives you ideas and an option for the refer vent install...
Love ours, no leaks, no problems.
