Which Sikaflex?

I just ordered Rocker mounting hardware for my solar panels from AM Solar. They told me that Sikaflex is used to reinforce the 3M mounting tape's adhesion. Looking online, there are several Sikaflex products. Which one should I purchase to add to the adhesion of the mounts?

I'm going to have the caulk on my Interstate's roof scraped off and replaced in a couple of weeks, and need to order Silkaflex as the vendor does not carry it.

Is Silkaflex 221 what I want?

"Sika Sikaflex -221 Multi-Purpose Polyurethane Sealant Adhesive WHITE" ???

Thanks in advance.

Maggie

I just finished resealing my Overlander. Sikaflex 221 is my sealant of choice. I got it in gray from Amazon.

221 here too, but, Maggie, isn't your van silver. Might want to consider gray...or aluminum I think they call it.

The sealant will go on the roof, which I think is white...tho I've never been on it, I'm pretty sure it is white.

Just been reading about adseal, as well, but I know that what's up there and has lasted 3 years is Silkaflex.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Okay, it sounds like 221 has the popular vote.

Thanks, all.

221 has a very short shelf life so don't save it for a job next year. If you are using any tube of caulk and the spout has dried just cut along the length of the tip and remove the dried portion and then use electrical tape to tape it back together. You can get many more uses out of it that way.

I've kept 221 in the freezer for 2 years with no degradation in performance. I keep all my polyurethanes in the freezer. Open tubes with plastic over the open end keeps really well...just a small plug of cured sealer at the tip. Easily pulled out with a pick.

My tube wasn't even open yet. But one year later the tube was solid. Waste of money. Perhaps it was just a fluke.
