Yea. That's pretty much it. But one reason I bought the yamaha over the honda was the fuel shutoff. That you still have to drain the carb was something I didn't pick up on.

Got the best deal on the Yamaha thru their authorized outlet.
I rarely use mine, but when I just slide it to the tailgate. Trying to lift it from the ground up to the tailgate is just too much.

No tailgate, I drive a Jeep GC. Might have to go back to a pick up if I can ever go full time.

Tried my trailer AC with the new Yamaha 2000 propane converted generator today. It quickly goes into overload mode and shuts down output. So much for hoping it might run my 13.5 unit. No problem running the micro wave, Television and plug in fans.

I just had my EU2000i serviced, and it again runs like new. Planning on attaching it to the v frame and putting a cover on it.

I just ordered a Yamaha EF2000iSv2 the other day from http://www.uscarburetion.com The big reason I ordered this instead of a Honda was the fact that the tri-fuel system that US Carburetor builds will not void the Yamaha warranty. I don't believe that Honda will still warrant their generator if you install the tri-fuel assembly.

There's someone on this forum who claims it works with a 2000 unit. I think he said the AS power switch has to be in the store (not use) position in order to disconnect the batteries. All lights off and everything else off.

I can run the AC with a pair of 2000 generators. Never tried with a single.

We had a Honda 2000 for maybe 9 years for our duck hunting cabin, running it all evening for lights and cooking. It ran a vacuum cleaner when cleaning the cabin. Any time we came in to warm up, we would start it up. Dead of winter, freezing cold, it always cranked on the first try or sometimes the second. Finally one of the young guys said it was getting old so he bought it from the club and bought us a new Yamaha. It's good, similar, but I'd take that old Honda back. Maybe it was just one of those good machines you get every now and then, but I'm a Honda fan. Then there's the 30 year old Johnson outboard motor, but I digress.

I recently posted a video I found on Facebook. It perported how to run the AC using a single 2000. Basically like you said, turn off everything else in the trailer including the converter/battery charging system, fridge, lights. I was too lazy today to try all that. Will watch the video again and try tomorrow maybe.

Hi, a friend of mine said he runs his 13,500 air conditioner with his Honda 2000; But he changed his start capacitor.

Other. I recently bought a Champion 2000w unit. So far, I'm satisfied with it.

This is definitely a newbie question - but would there be any advantage / difference / or reason in charging my two 12v batteries ( in parallel - when boondocking) with a Honda eu1000 via a BatteryMINDER vs plugging the power cord (with the 110 adapter plug) directly into the trailer? Would one way charge faster or keep from over charging? I'm talking just re-charging, not running anything.
