Where to place solar control panel on 25 FB?
Hi all,
I am planning a solar installation on my 2008 25 FB SE.
I am not sure of where the best placement of the controller panel would be.
I'm thinking of the wall between the bathroom & front bedroom might be a good place but I'm very interested in other people's solutions to this issue.
Any suggestions?
Where does the Factory put it with the Solar package?
Thanks

The dealership put ours on the cabinet base just inside the front door, next to the light switches and battery shut off. Works great for us.

Thanks.
That would be a great location in day to day use & it would be an easy area to work in but I wonder whether it's a problem being that far from the battery bank(at the front).
I'll have to ask the Solar vendor maybe.

On my 2008 23 ft Int. there is a light blue wire clearly marked "Solar" behind the Micropulse control panel (Fresh, grey, and black water status indicator). I just pried face of the panel off, and there it was. Airstream installs the solar control panel just above the Micropulse panel. I spoke with Jim Parret at Airstream and he said this is part of the "Solar pre-wire package". I'm so glad they did this. It makes it so easy to install the solar panel systems when that time comes.
Regards
Paul

The controller prewire on a 25'FB - Queen is under the bed on the C.S. closest to the front wall. The Display prewire is behind the tank monitoring system panel in the galley. The PV panel wires are behind the refrigerator accessed through the lower louvered vent.

FYI
I am pretty sure on a 23D International Signature the controller prewire in under the front dinette on the R.S of the trailer. The Display prewire is behind the Tank Monitor Panel.

Thank you Patrick & Paul.
That is very useful information. I was unable to find this information in the manual.
It would certainly make sense to have the solar panel close to the other monitor output.
This makes it look like things will be a little easier in laying things out.

Patrick you are right about the display prewire. It's great to have someone with your expertise here.
Evan
I took a picture of the display prewire for you. Remember if you pry off the face of the Micropulse display, pry from the top of the display only, not the bottom. There are two metal holding "catches" that wont budge..

Thanks Paul,
That is very helpful.
Now I have to figure out whether I can use this wire with the particular control panel I will be ordering.
