Soltek Solar Help Please

Hi All those with a factory installed Solar Charging system.

Looking for a huge favor. Our wrek's solar system is constantly running - recharging and draining - and on the sunny days there is a constant 3 beep warning. What we can gather - is it beebs when ready for use and then beeps again to warn that the battery is drained and again when it is recharging from cloudy to sunny periods.

The problem is - that our Dog Taz is really really really scared of smoke alarms and when anything beebs she gets beside herself. Well she has just clued in that this trailer on the driveway is beebing - so now I have a major problem.

First where is the battery that it is charging? second how do you shut this system off?

PLEASE HELP ANYONE - THANKS

We have found the parts list for this tariler and have obtained the Key codes which we will about to order a new set of keys - but the service manual and all sorts of appliance manuals are on the list of things to do.

She is a 99 Classic, Excella 28' Rear Twins centre bath - the soltek monitor is on the wall above the microwave.

Sharon, I think what is happening is, the battery in the trailer is bad, or broken, or not connected, and the solar charger is charging a non-functional battery.
The battery is accessible from the exterior of the front of the trailer. There is a kill switch inside the trailer at the left end of the shelf under the front window. If you have a cabinet across the front, the switch is in that cabinet. Turn the kill switch "off", and switch off the solar charger. The switch for the charger SHOULD be in the electrical cabinet with the other switches and breakers for your trailer.

Hey 63

Thanks for the info.....Okay battery compartment #1 nope no battery in there - battery compartment #2 nope no battery in there either. No indication of Solar Power on the fuse panel nor on the breaker panel (no pic forgot)

So the panel must be drawing the sun into the panel then transferring it to a "mini battery converter type bank"??? and then sending the juice through the converter on the floor pictured below. Does the converter hold juice??

Anyway the kill switch was in the On position so I have turned it to Off and we shall see tomorrow if this works.

But when it is in the on - that little puppy is working with NO house batteries.

That's why it's doing what it is doing. There is no battery to charge. If it keeps bleeping at you, stick an old battery in the hole, and hook it up, the solar charger will charge it, or at least try to. Maybe then it will stop beeping, and terrorizing your dog.

The kill switch did the job - thanks.

But how it works is still a mystery to me.

It charges something - then beebs three times - then I can turn lights on and the fantastic fans. They run for about 10 minutes or so and then 3 beeps again before the "juice" is depleated.

So tell me this where is the juice being stored????? if one there is no battery, two it is not stored in the actual panel and 3 the converter does not store juice just converts it.

Oh great one of Airstreams
