Soft Start - Easy Start - Smart Start..?

I have read all the forum posts on this subject. I'm trying to run my Dometic Penguin II 15,000 btu heat pump with a single Honda 2000is generator. In hopes of some real feedback, what did you go with and why?
-SUPCO SPP6 - $20
-Micro-Air Easy Start - $299
-Dometic Smart Start - $400
-Hyper Engineering

Any input would be appreciated

The Micro-Air site does some comparisons. I went with Micro-Air, good product, better support than you will find for most anything, anywhere.

MicroAir. You may still be able to use "AIRSTREAM" as a coupon code.

I just used AIRSTREAM as the coupon code at Micro Air and got a $40 discount.

I agree 100% - I bought and installed the Micro-Air and I'm very happy with it. The install was a bit tougher than I expected, but I was installing in an aftermarket Atwood unit, and the colors of all the wires didn't match the Atwood's wiring diagram.

The support from Micro-Air is fantastic. Matteo spent all the time I needed on the phone to get things right.

Based on all the happy campers giving their glowing testimony about Micro-Air's Easy Start, I put one on my Dometic Penguin II.
I already own 2 Honda 2000s, and they did a fine job of running the AC in it's original configuration. The problem was when plugged in to the 20 amp house outlet the AC would eventually trip the breaker. Not a good thing at 1am.
Now the breaker doesn't trip, and the compressor doesn't bang to life when it starts up. You can hear it come on, but it seems smoother and happier to do so.

This is on my to-do list and Micro-Air will be my choice due to the consensus on this forum and I concur about them being active here and their exemplary support service.

I have one sitting on the workbench, waiting to bring our FC home next week to install it. I also think it will be a plus in those 20 amp campsites- kinder to the air conditioner.

I put ES on a couple of months ago. AC runs beautifully with no loud noise when kicking in. I've run it with a single h2000 and plugged into a 20amp house breaker.

I had the Atwood in a prior trailer and loved it. So quiet compared to Dometic. Sadly the were bought by Dometic Las year.

Love the Atwood - it ran on one Honda EU2000i without the Easy Start, but only with the ECO switch off. Now with the Easy Start and the ECO switch on, the generator is quieter and goes much longer on a tank of fuel.

The Atwood AC is quieter than the Dometic and cools much faster. I also like the remote control so I can adjust the temp without getting out of bed.

A remote would be nice, seems like it wouldn't be hard for dometic to incorporate one

Active Start soft start reviews???

Anyone using the Active Start soft start either when plugged in at campground or home or while using a Honda generator?
