RECALL - EU 2000 generators

Just curious if anyone else has received a recall notice for their generators. I bought these at the end of June this year. Something about a fuel line and clamp. Also, is there any where in North GA that is a Honda Power Equipment dealer?

Recall Info

There is a Safety and Emissions Recall Notice from October 2012 for a "Fuel Tube Leak" (see attached PDF or JPG) for Honda EU2000i models ...the starting Serial Number is EAAJ-2260273 the ending Serial Number is EAAJ-2485025 ... Here is link to the Honda Power Equipment Recall Site.

If there is a Honda Motorcycle sales and service shop in your area...they most likely also sell generators... check with them. We have our Honda generators serviced at a Honda motorcylce dealer (they also sell generators).

I have 2 gennys. #1 bought 7/12 #2 bought 10/12. Both serial numbers fall in the recall range. But according to the Honda website #2 was OKed before I bought it. The cardboard box has a green dot and there is a black dot inside the spark plug access door. This means it is OK. This info is on the recall page at the Honda site. Will check #1 tomorrow. Did not get any recall notices.

I have not gotten any recall notices. Maybe this is why they put those little registration cards in the box?

My serial number is in the range. I just purchased it last week and haven't registered it yet but was able to confirm the black dot under the spark plug cover. Thanks Mike S and good luck with yours.

Hi all,
Thanks for the info. Want to buy a EU2000i. The unit that is offered falls within the recall range. The dealer stated that the units he receives are now repaired/fixed from the manufacturer.

Is this true to anyone's knowledge?

Thanks

Funny, I open this thread and a pop up ad for the EU2000i shows up at the top of the screen.

There is a way to check to see if a particular unit has been fixed prior to sale...check out the PDF or JPG above...the repaired ones are marked in one of a couple of different ways...

I understand the problem is a fuel hose clamp. Anyway an owner can easily check this himself?

If by "check" yourself you mean identify whether yours is fixed, follow the procedure in the PDF. If by "check" yourself you mean to fix the problem, it probably could be done but why not have the dealer officially repair it? Everyone's mileage varies, but I don't like to mess with flammables or electricity - especially both together!
