Predator generators from Harbor Freight

Has anyone had any experience with the inverter generators as compared to the Honda’s?

2000 predator inverter

I have the 2000 inverter predator from Harbor Freight and its been about a year since I've owned it, it works great and I haven't had any problems with it, yet. You just need to mix fuel stabilizer when using it, and it'll start on the second or third pull every time. Its quiet and works great, we used ours when we stopped and camped at various Walmarts in our 72 safari airstream when we drove out to Tennessee last year. I would also recommend purchasing the 2 year warranty with it if you decide to buy it.

saw a video on the HF model and the dude had a nice meter that shows the sine wave that is produced was saying it was better than some hondas he had checked. I was like dang for 500 bucks, what... you can find 20% off coupons and the end cost is 400.. plus tax. just a slight bit more noise but for 400 bucks not a deal breaker for me.

trying to figure why you need to run genny at walmart. You must have some low batteries that can't make it for a night.

All of the 20% off coupons that I get from HF have in the fine print on the bottom that Predator brand is excluded.

Ran the genny for watching tv and running a electric heater, non-working furnace. I've installed an 2000 watt inverter since and putting on 200 watts of solar panels in a couple months so won't have to use the generator for a quick overnight stay anymore.

They usually go on sale for about $429.00. Don't need the coupon!

predator generators

I don't personally have one, but a fellow that washes my truck once a month has one on his service truck. Now that generator runs every day for quite a few hours with multiple starts. He's had it now for about 6 mos and loves it. I think if I buy a generator in the future it will be a Predator.

I have one and they are quite. I'm satisfied with mine. I bought the bigger one (3400) because they can handle more load and is a few decibel quiter than the smaller one. I recommend them.

One thought comes to mind, inspired by "The Police."

"Don't camp, don't camp so
don't camp so close to me
don't camp, don't camp so
don't camp so close to me"

Just kidding. I hope they are quiet, but I has my doubts. Good luck!

you running regular 12v RV/marine batteries or some 6v golf cart big ole honking dudes.. ?? 2000 watts is a lot of amps 200 on a system at full head. 200 watts of solar is going to need some genny help to recharge after that 2k monster get down chomping on the batteries.

Yes, all the "brand name" stuff at HF is excluded. (Think, 'desirable') The best you can do is wait for the reduced price, which happens quite often.

I'll only be running the led tv on the inverter when stopping at Walmarts for a quick overnight stay and possibly a electric heater. (Currently in process of getting a new used furnace) I put in 2 dedicated orange wall outlets, 1 near my tv and the other near the coffee maker and wifi router which are connected to my inverter. I currently have a 12v deep cycle 120 ah battery which I will be changing to 2 6 volt agm style batteries in the near future. I do have my predator 2000 generator for just in case
