Looking for Lewster---Are You Out There?
While camping over the 4th of July, at the end of US 41 (Northern Michigan), an Airstream owner from Florida told me that you would be the person for me to contact regarding solar panels.
He told me that you know a great deal about the installation of solar panels. I was pretty impressed that the Florida Airstreamer (Craig) recommended you---plus I was impressed that he and his wife were so very far from home!!
Anyhow........
The panels were shipped directly from Jackson Center, Ohio, along with wiring, monitor/gauge, and brackets. The Airstream dealer in Traverse City did the ordering----because I didn’t know what size would fit the roof of my 25’ Flying Cloud, rear bunk.
I have done the majority of my camping in rustic and primitive locations---with my horse---for the past 20+ years. In May, I traded in my 32’ Sooner aluminum horse trailer with living quarters for this Airstream. ( I sold my horse last year). My Sooner had factory installed solar panels, per my custom order.
My Sooner batteries were charged (supposedly) while driving down the road and also via the solar panels. I never had gauges to show me the battery charge---nor the amp usage---and I didn’t learn about solar capacity etc. I just know that they worked really well and I remained in ignorant bliss! 90% of my camping has been remote camping and I never had any loss of battery power.
So, I have asked Michigan Sales, a local trailer and Kobota dealer to install the panels. They have done the work on my trailers for the past 15 years----and do exceptionally quality work. The solar panels were shipped directly to them, the schematics were faxed, and the brackets and monitor and wiring etc. were sent to them.
My appointment for installation is on Tuesday.
If needed, would you be interested, available, and willing to respond to a technical question that Michigan Sales may have?
Thanks! I appreciate your time~~~~
