I was at Home depot today & saw a honeywell 2000i gen. for 450.00.Has anyone tried one? I was wandering if they could be run in tandem like the Honda.Im sure they are a Chinese made, but no more than I need one ,it might be a good gen.........Any thoughts?

I have not tried one,but I did read all the available manuals on it. But no where does it say or suggest it will run in tandem with another HW or any mention of a tandem harness. But Im sure at that price they will not be long comming up with a harness to run tandems. I am fairly certain that you are correct in assuming the engine is Chinese from what I can see of it.I will sit back an what this one.

Hi, the Honeywell looks OK for a cheapy, but at 70dB, I wouldn't want to hear it at a campground or National Park. That's why most people bought either a Honda or Yamaha generator. I do understand though, I looked at many options before buying my Yamaha 2400.

Our local Home Despot has them for $699. For the $300 difference between a generator with no history and a Honda, I know which one I'd save my pennies for.
