Honda and Airstreams.

I have used 2 Honda 2000s with my other camper and now that I am buying an AS is there any difference at all in using them ?

Just plug in and use them ? Charges and runs everything the same as my older camper ?

Also, my older camper has a big 30amp cord that I run to my generators, does the AS have this same type cord that is coiled up in a compartment and I just pull out ?

I thought I had seen another type plug that just plugs in to the AS ? Is this cord the same as my 30 amp except just plugs in to the side of the camper ?

I am looking to buy a 04 safari.

Thanks.

Sure you can use your Honda genny's...as long as you have 110 VAC output, that's all that's required...

As far as shore power cords are concerned, earlier models has the cords permanently attached to the trailer, with the standard, RV 30 amp Male end to plug into RV parks electrical boxes...

I believe, later model Airstreams have removable 30 amp shore power cords that attach to the receptacle on the trailer, with the standard, RV 30 amp male plug on the other end...I don't know what year they made this changeover, but I suspect an 04 has the late, removable style...someone here on the forums will confirm for you...

Good luck on your AS shopping...you'll have a great time and lots of new 'Airstream friends' if you buy it!....

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle.

We have a 2005 25F and a pair of Honda 2000's. We have used our Airstream with these generators extensively with no problems. We have a generator parallel unit on one of the Hondas that accepts our AS 30 amp plug. When we're not running the air conditioning or heat pump, we use one of the Hondas. They are great generators that really do the job.

Best of luck in searching for your perfect Airstream.

When you shut down one of the 2000's and want to continue using one do you shut both down disconnect parallel cables then restart the one you want to continue using ? I have 2 also and would like to leave one running and just shut down the other without powering down both and disconnecting but worry it may create some type of problem, would like to also just leave paralleled and re-start other when am going to need more juice any problems there also ?

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

I have 2 Honda 2000's that I have used extensively. I have gone from using both to one by just shutting down the unit without the parallel kit. I do not disconnect the cords as I usually end up firing up the second one again.
