When I got my 1000 I got it fron Northwest Power tools. They had the best price by far. It included shipping too. Check them out also get the Batt. charge cable. its well worth the extra money. When I got mine it was 9.95. I think someone told me they were 19.95 now. Im not sure if thats right or not but give it some thought. Here is the site northwestpowertools.com Ralph

axle attachment on eu3000is

as I recall, I removed the the screw on rubber feet at eahc corner, enlarged those holes and drilled a companion hole for the u-bolts. pretty straightforward job, double nutted the wheels on the inside and used self lockers on the outboard side of the wheels.

Welcome to the Forum..Nice handle`
I bought my 3000i (abt the same price as your's) from an estate sale.
The poor guy never got to even fire it up. I agree abt the weight..Whew, that is one heavy sucker.
Interested in some of the ideas here abt the ramp/wheels.
Haven't tried it yet to power the 15k A/C but, it looks like it can handle it.
Here in the NE..It makes a great B/U to power outages during snowstorms.

Vern,our brother in law's 3000 will handily run their 13500 btu unit, plus extras. It does get a bit louder when running near capacity. It is also not as fuel efficient as the 2000 and smaller units (duh).

I wondered abt the fuel consumption. If I am not mistaken, someone on the forum converted the Honda to run on propane? Next month, I'll be using the Airstream and, will check that out.
Right now, I am painting the house. Grrrr, no A/S for me till..

I would like to know more about the folding ramps. Looking for something like that to load the ATV and haul the ramps with me. Looks like they are long enough and folds in the middle. Very nice..

wasafari's 3000 pictured above is converted to run on propane, you can see the lines and regulator in the photo.

not to hijack this thread but yeah I had the US Carb conversion done by the local propane shop, I've heard all the "not as efficient" stuff, all I can say is it works fine, runs my 13500 ac, runs my house during power outages, and can sit unfueled for months on end without gumming up the carb. Also, don't have to carry extra gas as 2 full 30 pounders are way more than I ever use on a trip. And, it is very easy to lean out at altitude (no jets to change, just lean out the mixture screw). Oh yeah, I went the cheap charlie route on ramps, couple lengths of 2x6 do the trick nicely.

3000i

I have both the 2000i and 3000i. I bought the 2000 unit to charge the battery on my trailer when boondocking. AC isn't much of an issue in this neck of the woods.

I have used the 2000 unit for backup power at home. However, when we lost power for 3 days last winter (12 degrees F), it was apparent that I was asking it to do too much. I bought the 3000i to provide backup for the furnace and refrig. Yes, it's very heavy, but no more so than a less capable unit from the local home improvement store. The wheel kit makes it easier to move around. It's also very quiet.

3000 vs 2x2000

Hello all -

Been meaning to get the 2x2000 but the 3000 interests me - especially with the wicked 4x4 looking wheels....

Gotta a question about the size though...

Since I don't have a PU, would need to get the beast into a burb, or possibly the door to SilverToy... Is that realistic? Possible?
