Genset will not crank

I have a '94 AS 33' Land Yacht. My problem is with the Onan Marquis 7000. When I try to start it, using any switch, all I hear is a slight whinning sound. The starter is not turning the genset over. I presume that I probably need a new starter. I also need to replace the exhaust pipe as it also has broken off. My question is does anyone know where I could find a video or how to instructions to try and repair this myself? It is mounted on a, what looks like, 4 bolt plate and it does not slide out. I am thinking that it has to be dropped to access anything. Any help would be appreciated!

I assumed that was the only way. I wish I could find a 'how to' diagram or video. I know how to get it down but I'm not familiar of any possible wiring or anything else that should be disconnected prior to dropping it. Unfortunately I can't find anyone local that would entertain repairing it for me at a reasonable price. Thank you for your reply!

It sounds like the starter is out. Starter bendix is probably bad or dragging not getting sufficient energy to engage to the flywheel. If it is spinning the starter some the wiring is probably ok. I am not familiar with the onan it could also have a solenoid that needs replacing.
