I went with the micro air device. I have not installed it yet. It was referred to in a earlier post. (Should I keep 2 Honda generators). You won't be able to run both AC units, but one will be fine for me. This is "with" the smaller Honda or Yamaha generators that fit under your cover.

I agree. There should be some form of shorter vibration absorber than the original rubber feet, about the thickness of a faucet washer. I made mine from a 1/8" sheet of neoprene.

But the real issue is that the Honda 3000 will be too tall in any event for the OP's truck. I don't suggest the 3000 unless the OP can try before buying to see if it will fit -- the clearance tolerance is small.

Perhaps the best choice is the Champion, or EasyStart + one 2000i?

Do you hook it up to the propane connection at the front of the trailer? If so, do you have to use the regulator setup that comes with the generator? I really appreciate all the great ideas everyone has given me on this subject.

My trailer is a 2010, so I do not have the propane connection at the front of my trailer. If I did then I would probably try to run from that without using the regulator that Champion provides. Since I do not have that connection, I just take a grill size tank (20 lbs I believe), place it in a milk crate to keep it from tipping over, and leave it in the bed of the truck.

I have to admit that Yamaha was my first choice and Honda was my second choice, but all their 3000+ watt generators were too tall for my application. That is what drove me to the Champion. That being said, I really do like the Champion dual fuel so far.

Why does Champion have a 3100 watt, 3400 watt, and 3500 watt units? Seem odd to have that many in that size range.

Different price points. For price sensitive people.

I'm thinking the 3500 must be replacing the 3400. Same 192cc engine on both.

I remember reading somewhere that the 3400 was just a 3500 "derated" to meet the requirements of a particular retailer. It made sense to me, as a 100 watt difference at that level is really inconsequential. But I can't vouch for the veracity of this as I read it on the internet somewhere, and as you know, the internet sometimes carries inaccurate information....

On our 2017 Classic the propane is pressure regulated at the trailer. There is no need to use the regulator that comes with the Champion. I did have a shop make a 20 ft. propane hose with a male quick disconnect/connect on each end. You will need a gas hose of whatever length you choose with the quick disconnects on both ends to make it work with the trailer.

I read somewhere that the 3400W and the 3500W Champion dual fuel inverters are identical (mechanically). They have different model numbers based on marketing with various retailers though. I will post the article if I find it again.

They do show both on Champion's website.

And if you do a comparison of the two, the only difference besides the wattage ratings is that somehow the 3500W unit weighs a little less. Only .7 lbs.

Very common for retailers (especially big ones like wal-mart) to insist on a "unique" model of product for their stores.

Also very common for manufacturers to build one version of something and then test it under load... the ones that test out higher get a "bigger" label, and the ones that test out lower get a "smaller." label. (For example, this is how computer processors are rated for clock speed.... all the chips are the same, just some go faster when tested so they charge more for them!)
