If at high altitude and it is hot enough you want AC why not just sit outside and have a cold beer. My AS is to get me in the mountains, next to a creek or lake and enjoy the outside not listen to my noisy, unducted AC in my Sport

Well let's see. There was 4000 feet elevation at the Bonneville Salt Flats for Speedweek in August when it was 95 degrees on pure white salt all day, and a respite from the heat for lunch and dinner would be nice, as well as when it's nearly 90 in the trailer at bedtime.
Then there's April or May in the San Rafael Swell in Southern Utah, 5000 feet elevation and in the 90s, gone most of day but it's 100 plus in the trailer after a day of hiking and nearly 90 at bedtime.

There's two examples. But thank you for your helpful advice. Not every 'high elevation' situation looks like a Rolling Rock beer commercial.

For what it's worth, Costco is selling a Yamaha-powered 2000-watt inverter generator for $500. I got one and like it very much -- quiet, fuel-efficient, adequate power for basic things. Buy a second one and you can link them together for plenty of power.

Also, note that unless you want to drop trailer every time you camp, it's difficult to put truck tailgate down with trailer attached. That makes it harder to lift out a heavy generator.

Just leave it in the truck.
