Generator stolen - what to replace with?

My Mcculloch 2000 (same as a Kipor) was stolen out of my carport a couple days ago. My fault for leaving it out but....really.

The form factor was identical to the Honda 2000, but I swear it was louder. I want, and need to replace it with another 2000 unit but am wondering if there are any current deals out the on the web or wherever on the Honda's? I would also consider another Kipor if the $ difference between the Honda was significant.

Any suggestions?

Thx

Dan

I grew up in Normandy Park. What has become of my peaceful liitle place? Maybe you live in the wrong part of town.

We like our Honda twins. Whichever unit you choose, sounds like a really mean dog to guard them would be a wise investment......

If you can wait until Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving), Northern Tool often offers great discounts then. That's how we got our Honda 2000's.

You did NOT have to tell me that! Generally I make an effort to avoid having anything to do with Black Friday, and now you make me want to go to Northern Tool....

Hyperactive Pit Bull on a treadmill? Generate electricity and keep bad guys away. Oh, you wanted practical...

If you don't have to have new, you can check pawn shops and flea markets in your area.

Yeah, buy back your own generator so you know you get a used one that was well-maintained!

Try your local Craigslist. I have had great success but do beware. You will find dishonest people everywhere.

You're right, it was probably mean. However, if you've reported the generator stolen and had the serial number to give to police, you can get it back for free if you find it for sale somewhere. Assuming the thief was your run-of-the-mill moron, he might even have used his real ID when he pawned it. That wouldn't be as satisfying as a 2nd-amendment solution, but it would be way better than nothing.
