Will the Honda 2000EU be enough to run the A/C on the new Safari 25LS? What is the hot setup most are using? We don't go to many places with hookups.

No. You would need to run two of the Honda's in parallel (which can be done) to power the A/C. Or get a bigger (heavier, louder) generator. I have the EU2000 and really like it. Am thinking about purchasing a second if A/C becomes an issue.

The 3000i weighs 130 or 135 Lbs (w/wheels).

For noise comparaison, according to Honda:

1000i and 2000i are 55 to 59 dB
3000i is 49 to 58 dB (55 at rated load, 49 at quarter load)

BUT: They mention elsewhere that the 3000 is slightly noiser. Just a difference of 1 dB though.

We have both the 1000i & the 3000i. We use them in situations where noise level is very critical (close to the stage during music festivals) and never had any problem. We just put it behind the trailer tires, and you barely hear it in the front.

I have looked at the Honda EV2000 & it appears to be the one I would prefer. the dealer started it up & I was amazed at how quiet it ran. Also if you buy 2 they can be connected together for the A/C, or other larger loads. Somewhere on the forum they had some threads regarding conversation to LP gas, which would go around the bad gas problem, if you don't run it for a time.

Just ordered my twin EU2000s today (and I have the same 13,500 btu AC/Heat Pump in the Safari LS package).

Gonna make up my own parallel cable with some Mueller shrouded 4mm banana plugs (2 red, 2 black) and a 30A RV outlet from Lowes.

Might even get a coupla extra gas caps for the 2000s and fit them for an air-tight connection to hoses going into a 6 gallon outboard motor gas tank, so the dropping fuel level in the EU tanks pulls gas from the outboard tank sitting next to the EU. A guy on RV.net came up with this and another has tried it as well. 8.2 gallons should give a pair of 2000's quite a run time.

I need my 80 lbs of propane for that 34,000 btu furnace.

RoadKingMoe- I know I have promised you some pictures of my boat gas can hook up but I have not been able to get access to a digital camera. I am going to use a regular camera and scan them and will get them to you or post them for others to see.

I'd sure like to see that! It would be nice to be away from the trailer for a day without worrying about running out of gas and leaving the pets without AC!

I ran my furnace last night on battery from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM and battery voltage was at 12.3 volts "resting" at 7 AM. I worked in the trailer last night removing curtains. I had various lights off and on, and was listening to a CD from 6:30 to 7 PM. Battery was on the Battery Minder in the 45F shop in "float" mode. I installed it in the AS and started the furnace. The battery is 1 year old. Surprised it did so well.

That sounds pretty good. My 9.8A furnace with power using refrigerator and hot water heater would've probably done that to two batteries.

Big generators make big noise and scares the birds. AC needs 4 thousand watts.
I have two 75 watt solar panels and a Honda 1000 for back up to top off my batteries and if it is that hot it is time for a private place with electricity. If you need AC your to far south, try Wisconsin, Minnisota or the UP of Michigan in the summer. Southern Arizona or the Everglades in the winter.
