Lots of good sources being mentioned here. So much to consider.

I converted my existing pair of Honda eu2000 generators for under $800 to propane only. They start on the first pull. I can attach one to the propane outlet on the front of either trailer or the pair to my spare 30 pound propane tank with a special regulator with two feed hoses. They were in the $1,000 class each when I purchased them in 2013 with no scales tax as they were shipped to me..

Hope the math is right.
Hmm. Price shows $873 now? But I'm seeing free shipping.

$800 for two conversions? Conversion kits are under $200 each.

For US Carb versions. The Genconnex version is $400/ea.

Well they sell converted Hondas with their kit and sell them with their Genconnex label on them, or you can buy the conversion kit and do it yourself. I think they have them for other brands but they have them for 2000, 3000 and 7000 series Hondas. You remove the gasoline capability and its exclusively propane or CNG. Everything's contained in the Honda case. Here's an unofficial video (without a lot of installation detail). He starts by taking off the US Carburetor version he initially installed so you can see both types.

Thanks, I already found their website. That is why I removed my question.

Their website has been funky lately. Apparently they were getting their kit gov't certified and not advertising them for a while. I called and ordered 2 kits yesterday for my 2000 and companion unit.

Sorry but have to ask. Why buy their kits when basically the same and proven kits are half the cost from the othe company?
Still trying to learn what I need to make a proper decision.

Not sure there's "a" proper decision.

I met them at an RV show and really liked what they offered, I liked the clean look and fit of the Genconnex kit (regulator fits inside the case, not bolted outside of it), I know I only want to use propane for the generators, I talked with folks who have them (including Switz), I checked reviews (even recent ones) that talked of the US Carb version having a bit of a challenge with the seal at the carb which sucks dirt in (and I take that with a HUGE grain of salt....) and while the US Carb version is less than half the price, for me, I felt the features and fit were more to my liking. Everyone's mileage varies so do whatever floats your boat. 😀

Oh - and I'm not yet retired so if I'm going to splurge on stuff like this (or an exit door I hope I'll never use) I figure now's the time to do that 😀

Don't think you could go wrong with either version - these two and Maine Diesel seem to be the top 3 choices based on what I've seen so far.

Good luck!

First conversion took about 1.5 hours reading and re-reading the instructions. The second one took about 45 minutes. Have to use a microwave to heat the rubber piece to go over a fitting, but otherwise it was a simple process. They started on the first pull after the installation which is better than the units would do on gasoline.

I have both a spare 20 and 30 pound propane tank. They suggest the 30 pound tank to run two units in cooler weather or higher altitudes. The 20 pounder can not release the gas from the liquid fast enough for two units under those circumstances.

This propane conversion allows us to carry one generator inside the Mercedes with no fumes when towing the 23D. Can even have the 30 pound tank along with the grill, air compressor and the basic Hensley hitch tools and a tire ramp inside the car and still be legal across the scales with both of us in the car.

The combination of one 2000 watt Honda and the Magnum MSH-3012 hybrid inverter coupled to our 300 amp-hour lithium battery allows for the air conditioner to be run from generator power if desired. The battery supplies the necessary power for the starting surge of the 13.5K BTU air conditioner.

Hi, I bought my Yamaha 2400 from Wise Sales. Their price on E-bay was less than their own site price. Note: the Yamaha 2400 has two handles and sometimes my wife insists on helping at 35 lbs each.

Apparently they have gone out of business. Web site is down and phones are no longer in service. Many complaints on the Internet and with BBC related to generator none delivery and communications.
