Generator Plug

My wife recently toured the airstream factory and the tour guide, Don, highly recommened the Generator Plug option. The best I can tell, it is an option for the Classic only, costs $150, and is a generator connection for the front of the trailer.

What is the advantage of this option? Wny not just plug a generator into the 110 line coming in at the rear of the trailer?

If the rear 110 line would do the same as a front generator plug, the only advantage I can image for a front plug would be the ability to run your trailer A/C while towing down the road with a pick-up truck.

The trailer we have on order is a Safari, so it isn't something for us, but I would assume could be added on after delivery if it has value.

Thanks,

You could use it to run the A/C when on the road stopped at rest areas, or Wally Worlds, etc. Not sure what type of connection it is. $150 seems pricey.

After dragging my trailer cord with a extension to the front of the AS to plug into the generator it sounds like a good option to have. Plugging and unplugging gets pretty old after awile. I would have ordered it knowing what I know now.
