It's very quiet. I used them for work and if you were 20' away you couldn't tell if it was running or not.
I think they weigh in the neighborhood of 75 pounds. Not for anyone to pick up and put in a truck. Fill it with gas and now it's 100 pounds. I've taken one out out by myself, and regretted it.
But it's also harder to steal. I plan on chaining it to the truck and leaving it.
I also hear good things about the Yamaha, but I've never seen one in action.

There are several threads on generators. Spend some time looking through them.

Note - some folks are moving to propane. It's a consideration worth adding to your analysis. A lot depends on your fuel availability options.

The soft start controls will allow an air conditioner unit to be run on one Honda or similar 2000/1600 generator. They run about $350 plus install. Headroom for other electrical use is not available with that option.

Really think that if the 85-100lb weight is not a problem, the dual fuel Champion is worth a try. Reasonable price does carry a bit of weight.

We can't deal with the weight, so a Honda 2000 gets our vote.

Good luck with your analysis. Pat
