The funny thing is that I agree with everyone about NOT mounting the genny to the rear bumper!!!
From aethstetics, to safety reasons.
The catch is, I have to use electric to power my coffee makers, and the battery bank is only good for an hour capacity, max.
By the way, my grand opening is scheduled for next week!!! Pics to follow.
So the rub is; I have to connect a generator at site (No power in lot). There's no other place to mount one! The front tongue is out, because of the propane tanks. Can't store it in the TV because of the shell and tailgate, and it's too heavy to lift out when hooked up. Plus, it's NOT SAFE to store enclosed, especially when it's still hot.
Same goes for stowing inside the AS. Not safe with gasoline fumes and a furnace!!!
Last resort (too late this winter), which might happen next Spring, is a new cargo hold on the curb side, where I have the battery bank (batteries will move to the rear). Framing, plumbing, and electrical nightmare, since that's where the breaker panel and inverter control assembly was installed.
Someone suggested Litium-Ion's from a Toyota Prius. Mount where the spare tire should go (guess where that has to move to?).
The fact is, back to Square One: Where the He[[ does the genny go?!?
On the back bumper, of course!
