Cant figure out how to connect my AS to power
I admit that I haven't read the manual as I have not received it yet. I do have the trailer now and would like to take it out next weekend. Hopefully the owners manual will arrive by then but in the meantime, I have a few real newbie questions.
How do I connect a generator to my AS? My AS has two male connectors - one on street side and the other behind the propane tanks. Each connector has three flat blades that probably takes locking plugs? Regardless, my new generator only has 120 VAC outlets. There are no cords that came with my AS so where can I buy such a cord? I intend to go to Camping World tomorrow. Would they carry that? Does the cord have a name?
Thanks for your help.

Cant figure out how to connect my AS to power
Go online to Airstream and you should be able to download the manual. If it is a relatively new model with front connection you require 30 Amp service and any RV store can help you get the correct cord by photographing the connection points on trailer and generator and showing these to the clerk at Camping World.
I am curious about why no cords were supplied and why no manual.....if you do not have the sewer and water connection hoses these are more essentials.
If you give a Zip code maybe a forum member can PM you and possibly come over and help you out.

Thank you do far for the responses.
I have a 2011 28' a Flying Cloud and live at zip 94510.
I bought the trailer used from a reseller. For some reason, the cords and manual was removed. The shop is sending me the manual which they forgot to put back in the trailer at time of sale.

Ok so it sounds like the person that sold you the trailer didn't give you a power cord, on the street side (as you mentioned earlier) there is a grey door with a label indicating were your power cord 120 volt should be plugged in , if you flip open the door you will see the type of connection plug you will need ,first I would contact the person that sold you the trailer and ask him for the power cord as these are not cheap, once you get the power cord you simply open the door line up the pins push in and turn then tighten the power cord lock (threaded part) then plug the power cord into power outlet you maybe will need a adapter to match the plug outlet for power source , and depending on your generator ( you never mentioned what brand and model ) most rv dealers have these adapters, as for if you need to buy a power cord I would get one from a airstream dealer, now you mentioned a second plug up front behind the propane bottles ,I'm not familiar with this trailer model ,I looked at some pictures on airstream site and it looks like this trailer has a second a.c. Plug up front behind propane bottles , not sure if you use both power cords at same time due to power cord max allowed power through cord ( I'm sure this trailer has two a.c. Units)or if you can use either power plug due to location of supplied power from campground ,either way you need a power cord(s)and adapters to match your generator plug or campground plug

Well, maybe someone in the Oakland area can help you out. Look into the local unit of the WBCCI and they are usually pretty friendly and can be helpful.

Research before you go to Camping World. There are many types of cords and adaptors in their display.

If you are going to go to Camping World, or any other source, for your cord purchase take the trailer along and they will help you to make sure you get what you need.

You will need a special cable that allows you to connect the generator. Any camping oriented store such as Camping World will have them. The cable will have a standard grounded 110 volt male end for the generator and at the other end a port for the three flat blades the Airstream requires. When I purchased my Honda 3000 generator of late there were such cables hanging beside them!☺️

The cord should have came with the trailer, they shorted you.You probably have a 30 amp service cord and you will need an adaptor to go down to 15 amp to use your generator...

Thanks everyone. I was definitely shorted the power cord. I went to my local Airstream dealer and found the cord I need but did not buy it as it was $130!! I called the reseller and he promised to mail me the cord on Monday.
Dave, thanks for the links. If the reseller doesn't come through, at least I know Camping World carries it and for $50 cheaper!

Look in the BUMPER! The lid lifts up. Most people store the cord there.
Welcome to the Forums and to Airstream ownership.
Do try to meet forum members and/or WBCCI members - there's a lot to learn and there are wonderful people who would cheerfully spend an afternoon helping you to maximize your enjoyment (and avoid a few painful mistakes) with your Airstream.

I have often wondered why the only generator which i have see is the Champion 9,000 or maybe it was 9500, at any rate one of those, that has the four prong plug at the generator to plug the fifty amp service into. Any clue as to why honda or yamaha have not done so on their larger generators?
